ESG Tech Lead

PURPOSE

The ESG Tech Lead will be responsible for leading the technological initiatives that support the company’s ESG strategies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG principles into the company’s technology roadmap, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices are embedded across all technological processes and products.

OBJECTIVES (main duties and responsibilities)

ESG Strategy Integration: 
Develop and implement technology strategies that align with the company’s ESG goals.

Data Management: 
Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of ESG-related data to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Technology Solutions: 
Design and deploy technological solutions that improve the company’s ESG performance, such as carbon footprint reduction tools, supply chain transparency systems, and social impact measurement platforms.

Collaboration
Work closely with sustainability, compliance, finance, and other departments to integrate ESG considerations into business processes and decision-making.

Innovation
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and innovations that can advance the company’s ESG objectives.

Reporting
Develop and maintain ESG reporting systems to provide insights and updates to stakeholders, including investors, customers, and regulatory bodies.

Training and Support: 
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on the use of ESG technologies and best practices.

Risk Management:
 Identify and mitigate risks related to ESG technologies and data security.

Compliance: 
Ensure all technological solutions comply with relevant ESG regulations and standards.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in sustainability or ESG (e.g., LEED, GRI Certified Training Program) are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Technical Skills: 
    Proficiency in data analytics, software development, and familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Leadership
    Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Analytical Skills: 
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on sustainable solutions.
  • Communication: 
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Related Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology leadership role, with a focus on sustainability or ESG initiatives.
