AI / ML Engineer

PURPOSE

We are seeking an innovative and driven AI/ML Engineer to join our dynamic team and help steer our future in artificial intelligence. In this role, you will be at the forefront of execution and contribute significantly to our strategy.

OBJECTIVES (main duties and responsibilities)

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the company-wide AI/ML strategy.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents to automate complex workflows, data pipelines, and business processes.
• Take end-to-end ownership of AI/ML projects, from conceptualization and data exploration to
  model building, evaluation, and integration into production systems.
• Build and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to support our AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Apply advanced machine learning, statistical modelling, and deep learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Act as a key resource and advocate for best practices regarding AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and emerging AI technologies.
• Communicate complex findings and technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science to drive innovation within the team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong programming proficiency in Python and extensive experience with data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Experience with SQL for complex data querying and manipulation.
• Proficiency with software development tools including Git, Docker, and building/consuming APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML Ops practices.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen).
• Experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
• Familiarity with building and optimizing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
• Familiarity with multi-agent systems or collaborative agentic architectures.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues, generate solutions, and implement them effectively.
• Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and document processes clearly.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements and technologies.
• Teamwork: Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Innovation: Creativity in developing novel approaches to improve existing models and create new AI/ML solutions.

Job Related Experience

• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying AI agents or machine learning models in a production environment.
